Universal Design, it doesn't happen by accident.

There is a lot of design that goes into Universal Design. It's one thing to throw around terminology like "zero threshold entrance" or "curbless shower". It's easy to explain why lever style door handles are easier to use than traditional door knobs. It takes a whole lot more training and experience to create universally designed spaces that really work. A large part of that design is knowing about the various building materials, specialty hardware, and specifically designed fixtures necessary to make the design function. One of the places I search for hard to find items is dynamic-living.com . Now, after researching and locating the appropriate materials and fixtures, it is imperative that everything be built and installed properly and per the design. Let's face it, there are thousands of contractors who can install a new bathroom. However, I don't know anyone else in my area that knows the first thing about Universal Design
